shed-ache - aKa Dance Theatre

Blackbird - Alesandra Seutin

The Unbearables - Sita Ostheimer

“We easily take things and facts for granted, calling them true and fixed in their meaning only because we have access to them. We confound growing collective intelligence with a growing access to knowledge

and information. The same with human relationships. We do not understand each other better simply because our social networks are more complex. Confrontation with another human being implies courage, stamina. Not being afraid, neither of emotional distance nor closeness. It means taking responsibility.”

Credits

Choreographer, Sita Ostheimer; Assistant, Jonathan Sanchez; Music, Tony Birch; Lighting, Barnaby Booth; Costumes, And Walker.

Vertical Road - Akram Khan Company

With a specially-commissioned score by long-term collaborator and composer, Nitin Sawhney, Vertical Road draws inspiration from the Sufi tradition and the Persian
poet and philosopher Rumi. Exploring man’s earthly nature, his rituals and the consequences of human actions, Vertical Road becomes a meditation on the journey from gravity to grace.
